Supporting Elrama Volunteer Fire Company Station Recovery After Water Main Break Flooding

As many of you know, our co-owner of Salim Home Services, Matt Salim, also serves as Fire Chief for Elrama Volunteer Fire Company. In addition to running our family handyman business, he serves in this volunteer role.

This past weekend, the Elrama fire station was significantly damaged and flooded due to a major water main break. This was the same incident that caused boil water advisories and water outages affecting nearly 95,000 people across the region.

The flooding caused damage to the fire station, equipment, and day-to-day operations, requiring immediate cleanup and coordination to remain in service.

‍

Despite the damage, Elrama’s volunteer firefighters have continued working around the clock to remain operational and respond to emergency calls while managing equipment loss and the recovery process.

How to Support Elrama VFC

For those who have asked how they can help during this time, a recovery fund has been opened to support immediate operational needs. Funds raised will help cover damaged or missing gear, equipment needs, cleanup efforts, and keeping the station functional while recovery continues.
